The "Graduate" Woodturning Lathe has been produced to fulfil all the requirements of woodturners , wheather master craftsman or student.
Neat, compact appearence, allied to quiet, vibration-free running make this machiene a delight to operate.
Enclosure of all electronics, plus the fitting of safety cut-out switches to top cover and door, afford the inexperienced operator absolute protection.
A lever quickly releases tesnion on the driving belt, to facilitate speed change.
Turnbuckle adjustment is provided, to correct any belt stretch.
The outer rest arm pivots radially on it's stud, and slides laterally in the rest bracket slot. A quick-locking handle clamps the arm rigidly in any desired position.
The Many accessories available make this machine capable of a very wide range of work.

Union Graduate

Main Pedestal
This rigid casting completely encloses the motor and belt drive, the contractor unit and push-button starter.

Main Spindle
The large diameter spindle is bored to pass 3/4in diam. is screwed both ends, runs in deep groove ball bearingsm, and carries a four-step vee pully.

The Bed
This is a strong box-section casting with machiened ways, securely clamped and doweled to the pedestal.

Hand Rest
this Rest is adjustable for height, being locked by a left-hand threaded lever for safety. The lever is positioned clear of the operator's hand.

Motor
The 3/4 hp motor is controlled by conveniently placed push-buttons. The contractor provides no-volt and overload protection on all a.c. single and three phase voltages. The motor is mounted on a pivoting platform, and carries a four step vee pulley.
